It makes good sandwiches. Use butter and the right size bread and you'll be happy. It's rare to find the great iron ones made to go over a cooktop so this is a good alternative.

Cuisinart WM-SW2 Dual-Sandwich Nonstick Electric Grill Feature

  • Deep-pocket sandwich grill cooks 1 or 2 sandwiches at a time
  • Browns and seals with a diagonal indentation for slicing in half
  • Nonstick grill plates ensure effortless food release and quick cleanup
  • Red and green indicator lights; also makes French toast and omelets
  • Measures 9 by 9 by 3-1/2 inches; 3-year limited warranty
Lunch takes on a whole new dimension with this sandwich grill. Layer cheese, tuna, veggies, mushrooms, or whatever is desired between slices of bread, set on the deep-pocket grill, and close and lock the lid. Sandwiches come out perfectly browned and sealed, with a diagonal indentation making them easy to slice in half. The grill cooks one or two sandwiches at a time, and also turns out waffles and omelets. The nonstick finish keeps food from sticking, although a little butter or oil also helps. A red light comes on when the grill is plugged in and heating up; a green light announces the grill is ready to use. To clean, simply wipe off the grill plates when cool. The grill measures 9 by 9 by 3-1/2, and is covered by a three-year warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri Its not just for lunchgrill anything from omelettes to French toast, even light dinners. Evenly grills two items at a time. Dual indicator lights prevent over or under cooking. Nonstick cooking plates eliminate the need for added butter or oil. Looks great and stores easily! Model WM-SW2. Manufacturers limited three-year warranty.

I have a bigger Griller which I now I just use for burgers. This little wonder uses less electricity and gives a better toast to your sandwiches.

Cuisinart GR-1 Griddler Panini and Sandwich Press

Cuisinart GR-1 Griddler Panini and Sandwich Press Review

...those are the the ones that can't be pleased no matter what, with few exceptions of course. The pros far outweigh the cons. Few complain about difficulty cleaning. What are you putting on it, glue?! Any residue comes off without breaking a sweat. Just because you can't stick it in the dishwasher doesn't mean you can't achieve the same results.

Somebody said something about the top browning more quickly than the bottom. Yes, that is absolutely true. There is a simple solution, flip the sandwich over!!! It really isn't that difficult, it's like frying an egg you know. Somebody was surprised of how small the grill surface was, why is that?! The description indicates that it is 11-by-7 inch, read before you buy.

No on/off switch was another complaint I read about this product. Really? Is it that important? Safety issue, how so? Just unplug the thing, the rest of us seem to be able to manage just fine.

All in all, this is an awesome product and the price is right. Just throw a bunch of stuff between two pieces of bread, throw it on the press, flip over half way through, and enjoy your creation as I did while I wrote this review. Rock on \m/

Love it! - veggie09 - MO, US
This product is just as good as it sounds. Makes perfect panini and FAST. Also great for making quesadillas.
Goodbye paninis at Panera!! Get yourself some good Italian bread and have at it - it comes with a great little recipe book.

Cleanup is a snap, too, since the plates are non-stick. They are NOT removable, though, so if you want one with plates you can put in the dishwasher, this isn't it.

I haven't had it for that long, but the hinges seem pretty sturdy and overall the materials quality seems high. This is a major improvement over a press I had in the past, which had such cheap hinges that it fell apart (literally) after four uses, so this is something I look for specifically.

Love it!

New Things to Eat - Joycie - NJ
I was looking for something to make some new and different things for dinner when I noticed this panini maker. I've tried it a couple of times, and each time it has made a yummy sandwich and/or quesadilla. It's easy to use and to clean. It only takes a few minutes for the sandwich to cook.
